Haikou Desert

Introduce

At the junction of plains, mountains, and bays lies a vast expanse of sand dunes, approximately 1700 meters long, 250 meters wide, and up to 10 meters high. During the northeast monsoon season from October to March, a large amount of sand is blown onto the land, making the coastline of Hengchun Peninsula look like the Sahara Desert. This area is known as the "Little Sahara Desert" or the enchanting "Dream Bay." Due to its terrain, it is also called "Nose Bay" or "Golden Sand Lagoon." The ever-changing sand dunes offer different scenery in each season.

Walking, playing in the water, picnicking, and collecting shells on the shining golden sand dunes offer a holiday experience, providing a relaxing and leisurely choice.
